“For practicing Christians, this week’s observances include Good Friday, the death and passion of Jesus Christ, Holy Saturday, the vigil over His tomb, and Easter Sunday, the day of His resurrection. It is a foundational event for Christians, and a source of deep faith.
“To all who observe Easter as the most sacred day in the Christian calendar, let us raise our voices in a shared ‘Hallelujah!’
“To Canadians for whom Easter is not a religious event, enjoy the long weekend! Spring is coming!”
