You will all be pleased to hear that BAE, Europes biggest arms manufacturers, are adding a department of Corporate Responsibilty to their corporate structure. This will result in environmentally friendly ammunition, including missiles that contain fewer toxic chemicals such as lead. According to BAE's website, lead in bullets can "pose a risk to people."
Symon Hill of the Campaign Against the Arms Trade said, "BAE is determined to try to make itself look ethical, but they make weapons to kill people and its utterly ridiculous to suggest that they are environmentally friendly." However, the British Ministry of Defence had the last word; "Green ammunition is not a contradiction in terms. Any system, whatever its ultimate use, can be designed to minimize its impact on the environment."
Whew! Thats all right then! Had me worried for a moment.
