Algeria spoke in favour of the text as the coordinator of the African Group.
India:
Minister Ramesh, the great Mexican leader said the challenge for Mexico was to be too close to its northern neighbor and very far from God. But tonight God has been very close to Mexico. And coming from a country with many gods and goddesses, Mexico has also been close to goddesses....you have restored the faith of all of us in the multi-lateral process after it hit a historic low. You have bridged the trust deficit. We will work not only to fulfill our own responsibilities but work to understand the concerns of other countries, particularly the Less Developed Countries. The mood of the room has spoken in two standing ovations. (Cheering) By all means call a meeting of the two Working Groups, but you are empowered to make whatever changes you can as president. But let us very soon bring an end to this and say we do have an agreement in Cancun. (Applause!)
Colombia:
We never believed we could have such a positive and encouraging spirit after such a difficult year. Interpreting the ambiance we ask that the Cancun package be adopted without further delay. (Loud applause)
Ecuador:
We are a country of enormous biodiversity. And we are committed to leaving our oil resources in the ground. In keeping with our constitutional protection of nature's rights. It is imperative that a second round of commitments under Kyoto be undertaken urgently. We is also not ideal to allow the World Bank to be the interim trustee for the Green Climate Fund. The urgent need to responsibly review the mitigation commitments that will lead us to stabilize the GHGs before they do more damage. We must support the words of Bolivia in the gaps in the texts that we see. We need to work over the next year to fix these gaps. Thank you for restoring faith in multilateralism.
